Our history

Originally commissioned in 2017 as Truxton Division, Hyman G. Rickover Division is a proud unit of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, based in Oswego, New York. In its early years, the division led the way in community involvement and youth development, embodying the core values of the U.S. Navy.

The challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic led to a temporary merger with surrounding units, but the spirit and mission of the division endured. Now, in 2025, the unit has been revitalized under the name Hyman G. Rickover Division, honoring the legacy of Admiral Rickover—the visionary father of the Nuclear Navy.
